To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what are the average annual costs of one Nimrod aircraft. [21213]

[holding answer 17 December 1997]: The estimated average annual cost of supporting a Nimrod MR Mk2 aircraft is some £4 million. This figure does not include fuel and aircrew costs.
