Mr. Jenkin

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will state for each of the years between 1978–79 and 1996–97 inclusive, the number of(a) jobs created and (b) safeguarded in Scotland as a result of inward investment projects; and if he will indicate those projects that have (i) created and (ii) safeguarded 100 jobs or more. The number of jobs which the inward investment projects attracted to Scotland since April 1981 were expected to create or safeguarded is as follows:
