To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what conclusions he has reached on the compliance of the provisions of the Crime and Disorder Bill [Lords] with the European Convention on Human Rights; and if he will state his reasons. [22719]

My Department has given detailed consideration to the compatibility of the Bill with the Convention. I am satisfied that the Bill is compatible with the Convention and we will continue to keep the subject under review as the Bill progresses.
