To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what steps he is taking to ensure that structures and runways of former military airfields which are of historic significance are safeguarded. [20208]

Mr. Spellar

My Department is fully compliant with the Government's Nine Point Plan of Action for care of Historic buildings which establishes appropriate levels of care for the continued upkeep of statutorily protected buildings and sites. This includes former military airfields.
