To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many times he has met the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food to discuss the Scottish fishing industry since 2 May. [22038]

Mr. Dewar

I and my noble Friend the Under-Secretary with responsibility for agriculture, environment and fisheries have regular discussions with our colleagues at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food about matters relating to the UK fishing industry.

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many times he has met representatives of Scottish fishing and fish-farming industries since 2 May; if he will list the bodies concerned; and if he will make a statement. [22040]

My noble Friend, the Under-Secretary with responsibility for agriculture, environment and fisheries and I have met numerous representative organisations concerned with fisheries since 2 May, including meetings with the Scottish Fishermen's Federation, the Scottish Salmon Growers" Association and the Association of Scottish District Salmon Fishery Boards.
