To ask the hon. Member for Middlesbrough, representing the Church Commissioners, what is the policy of the Church Commissioners on charging for access to church buildings. [20235]

This is not a matter for the Church Commissioners. Policy on admission charges to a church rests with the individual Parochial Church Councillor, in the case of a cathedral, with the Chapter Office. I would, however, be happy to convey any representations that the hon. Gentleman might wish to make to the appropriate authority.
