The Countess of Mar

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many members of the 14th/20th Hussars, the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers and the Queen's Own Irish Hussars were present in the St. George's Lines, Camp Doha on 11 July 1991 and in the subsequent four days when a fire occurred in the British military headquarters; how many casualties were reported as a result of exposure to oxidised depleted uranium; and what regime is in place to monitor the possible delayed effects of such exposure.

Lord Gilbert

I will write to the noble Countess as soon as our investigations are complete and a copy of my letter will be placed in the Library of the House.
