To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will make a statement on the appointment of Mr. Michael Johns as Chief Executive of the Valuation Office Agency. [30230]

With the approval of the Prime Minister, Mr. Michael Johns was appointed Chief Executive of the Valuation Office Agency following the resignation of Mrs. Veronica Lowe, his predecessor, with effect from 31 December 1997.
