HC Deb 23 February 1998 vol 307 c62W
Mr. Wigley

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what progress he has made on the payment of guaranteed minimum pension increases to retired teachers and other categories of public sector pensioners who are in receipt of invalidity or incapacity benefit beyond state retiring age; and if he will make a statement. [30424]

Mr. Darling

I understand that arrangements are in hand for the teachers' and other public services' pensions schemes to check payments to such pensioners and make adjustments where there has been an underpayment, assisted by information provided by the Benefits Agency. However, the actual arrangements are a matter for the individual pension schemes.
