§ Mr. Chris Smith[holding answer 17 February 1998]: Under section 11 of the National Lottery etc. Act 1993, the Secretary of State has directed the Director-General not to license games that encourage excessive participation. I have asked the Acting Director-General to write to my hon. Friend about any particular conditions in the licence dealing with frequency of draws and copies of his response will be placed in the Libraries of the House.
