To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what level of revenue, inclusive of value added tax, was received by his Department as a result of amusement with prizes machines in the last 12 months for which figures are available. [30000]

[holding answer 17 February 1998]: The level of revenue in 1997 from Amusement Machine Licence duty was £133 million. A separate figure for amusement with prizes machines cannot be calculated. The amount of VAT collected is not separately available.
