To ask the Secretary of State for Health what is his estimate of the expenditure of his Department on newspapers and magazines in(a) 1995–96,(b)1996–97, (c) 1997–98 to date and (d) 1997–98 full year; and if he will list the newspapers and magazines purchased or subscribed to on a regular basis. 1 Regional Offices became part of the Department of Health in 1996; their expenditure on newspapers and magazines has been included in the Department's costs for 1996–97 and subsequent years.

Copies of a list of newspapers and magazines purchased or subscribed to on a regular basis by the Department of Health have been placed in the Library.
