To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will estimate the redistribution of income between couples if family credit is replaced by the proposed working families tax credit paid to the principal earner. [28182]

Any redistributive effects of the Working Families Tax Credit will depend on its design and this is what my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer is considering currently.
