§ Mr. McLeishForecasts of road traffic growth for Scotland are not produced separately from the National Road Traffic Forecasts for Great Britain published by the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions. The latest forecasts, published in October 1997, take no account of our developing transport policies. On the central estimate, the forecast shows an increase in road traffic of 38 per cent. between 1996 and 2016 and 60 per cent. from 1996 to 2031.
