To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many farms, having how many sheep, in(a) the Lake District, (b) the Pennine Dales, (c) the North Peak, (d) the South West Peak, (e) the Shropshire Hills and (f) Dartmoor are eligible for ESA payments; and how many farms in each locality, having how many sheep, have joined the ESA schemes. The information requested on numbers of holdings and numbers of sheep is not readily available and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.

The following table shows the current number of ESA management agreements and the percentage of eligible land under agreement:
