§ Mr. MichaelPart V of the Police Act 1997 contains provisions which will enable all organisations which work with children to obtain access to criminal record checks on their employees and volunteers. We are currently considering how to phase in implementation of Part V in the light of a review which took account of experience gained in implementing the Sex Offenders Act 1997 and proposals in the Crime and Disorder Bill.
