§ Mr. Rooker[holding answer 16 February 1998]: More than 90 per cent. of the BSE-related compensation paid during 1996–97 and 1997–98 has gone to producers. About 20 per cent. has been paid directly to them; the rest has reached them via livestock markets, slaughterhouses and abattoirs.
