§ Mr. HainI am currently undertaking a series of meetings with key transport operators to assess the potential for improved air and rail services between North and South Wales. I am also engaged in discussions with the Director of Passenger Rail Franchising. My conclusions will be reflected in a Welsh transport policy statement which will be published at around the same time as the forthcoming integrated transport White Paper.

§ Mr. HainThe promotion of public transport will be one of the key objectives of the Government's integrated transport White Paper, which is due to be published in the spring. A separate Welsh transport policy statement will be published at around the same time.
