§ Ms Glenda JacksonNo studies have been conducted by the Department or Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on the economic value of the aviation industry to the UK, but studies have been undertaken on additional capacity. Such studies include the RUCATSE study on runway capacity in the South East published in 1993, the evidence submitted by the Department and the CAA to the T5 Inquiry and a study by CAA (CAP 638) on the economic value of new air services to regional airports.
