§ Ms QuinThere are 19 empty flats at the Du Cane Road site as at 6 February 1998. All have become vacant since September 1997 and are in a deteriorating condition. Five flats remain occupied: these will not be re-allocated when they next become vacant.
There are no plans to make further use of the dwellings as they are deemed to be beyond economic repair and potentially dangerous. The Prison Service plans to demolish them to enable redevelopment on the frontage of Wormwood Scrubs.
Wormwood Scrubs also has two flats and one house that are not on the Du Cane Road site that are empty and on sale on the open market.
