To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will list(a) areas of expenditure and (b) the amounts involved, where (i) money has been saved and (ii) new income (1) has been raised and (2) is anticipated, which were not in the previous Government's financial plans for the two financial years ending on 1 April 2000. As part of the Comprehensive Spending Review, Departments have been looking to deliver services and priorities more efficiently and to reallocate money towards the Government's top priorities. A statement on the conclusions of the review will be made in the summer.
