§ Clare ShortThe bilateral aid programme to Sudan was suspended in 1991. Since then, UK aid has been given through United Nations and international non-government agencies to the poorose and most vulnerable groups in Sudan suffering the effects of famine and the continuing civil war. Details over the last three years are as follows:

These amounts are recorded as bilateral disaster relief as DFID has influence over the use and destination of funds.
