§ Mr. Tom ClarkeOn 16 December 1997 Sheffield was chosen as the preferred bidder to run the Headquarters site of the United Kingdom Sports Institute. The Sheffield Consortium are currently in discussion with the United Kingdom Sports Council regarding the management structure of the Institute in which the Council will have a significant role.
