To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment what plans he has for re-training for work claimants of disability benefits who lose their entitlement. [27256]

Mr. Alan Howarth

There is a range of help available to unemployed disabled people through programmes delivered by the Employment Service (ES) and through training programmes delivered through the Training and Enterprise Councils (TECs). Both the employment and the training measures pay specific regard to the needs of disabled people.

Specialist advice is available form Disability Employment Advisers in local ES offices.
