§ Mr. GalbraithThe recognition of sports in Scotland is a matter for the Scottish Sports Council. In the financial year ended 31 March 1997, the Council provided grants totalling £2.549 million to the 52 governing bodies set out as follows.
Details are not held centrally of the names or sporting backgrounds of chairpersons and chief executives of governing bodies, or the numbers of members on governing body councils or executives.
