Letter from W. J. McCoubrey to Mr. Clifford Forsythe, dated 3 February 1998:
The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland has asked me to reply to your recently tabled PQ about annual traffic census figures at a number of locations in the Newtownabbey area.Roads Service monitors traffic flows at key locations on the strategic road network and carries out separate counts on the remainder of the road network when the need arises. None of the roads mentioned in your question is a key location on the network and therefore the information requested is not available. Traffic data has however been collected at 2 other locations along Mallusk Road. Details of these are as follows:
Average 24 hour flow (vehicles per day) along Mallusk Road Year At Roughfort Village West of Scullions Road 1992 1,750 n/a 1993 1,940 n/a 1994 2,290 n/a 1995 1,960 n/a 1996 1,960 18,810 1997 2,060 19,990 I hope you find this information helpful.
