To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what measures he is taking to ensure that food standards in other member states of the EU match those in the United Kingdom. [25861]

Most areas of food law are harmonised in the EU through EC legislation. The UK negotiates hard to make sure that the health of the consumer is properly safeguarded at home and abroad.
