§ Mr. Charles Clarke[holding answer 8 December 1998]: A list of material sent to schools by the Department of Education and Employment from 2 May 1997 to 12 December 1998 has been placed in the Library.
Of the 216 items sent to schools, 130 were sent to all schools over the 20-month period. The remainder had a more limited circulation. Since June 1998 schools have received material in regular batches which clearly indicate the priority of items. From 1 December batches only contain: guidance on legal changes, curriculum development material on key strategies such as literacy and numeracy, data collection and 2 page summaries of documents on key policy issues.
