§ Mr. Rooker[holding answer 10 December 1998]: Farm fresh turkeys give consumers a choice and the Government would like to see traditional production of this product continue.
The Ministry will be issuing for public consultation a consultation document recommending that small off-farm poultry meat slaughterhouses should no longer be exempt from licensing. These proposals will not affect the exemption for small-scale on-farm production of traditional farm fresh turkeys.
