§ Kate HoeyThe Government accept that the Criminal Appeal Act 1995 should be amended to enable the Criminal Cases Review Commission to refer to the Court of Appeal a special verdict of 'guilty but insane', under section 2(1) of the Trial of Lunatics Act 1993; and to give 469W the Court of Appeal powers to hear and dispose of an appeal upon such a reference. Such a measure will be brought forward as soon as Parliamentary time allows.
