HC Deb 14 December 1998 vol 322 c349W
24. Mr. Fabricant

To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport what estimate he has made of the amount of money available to be distributed for each of the good causes for(a) 1998–99, (b) 1999–2000 and (c) 2000–2001 and the percentages these represent of total funds available for distribution by the good causes. [62152]

Mr. Chris Smith

The Lottery is now set to raise £10.6 billion for good causes over the licence period, £600 million above previous forecasts.

As I have explained to the hon. Member previously, we are currently discussing with the distributing bodies how best to adjust their percentage shares in order to achieve the intended allocation of the extra £600 million. Until these discussions are complete, the annual income assumptions for the good causes cannot be finalised. We plan to lay an Order as soon as possible giving effect to these adjustments.
