To ask the Secretary of State for Health, pursuant to his answer of 2 December 1998,Official Report, column 210, concerning hospital readmissions, if he will list the figures for the total number of people aged over 75 years discharged in each quarter since emergency readmissions statistics were first collected, (a) in total and (b) by region. The number of patients who are readmitted to hospital is related to the number of patients who have been discharged. The number of patients aged over 75 and over discharged from hospital and the per cent. of patients aged over 75 and over readmitted to hospital within 28 days have also been provided.
