§ Mr. ByersThere is no need to extend the scope of the funding. Our guidance to local education authorities (LEAs) states that:
grant will be available for projects which will ensure that a school's principal toilet accommodation will be accessed from indoors either by remodelling, the building of an extension, or the construction of enclosed links between the main buildings and current externally accessed toilet blocks".LEAs will be able to apply for funding for all schools which have outside toilets which fall within this definition. We would not normally, however, consider support for the replacement of toilets in temporary teaching accommodation which the LEA or governors expect to be taken out of use or replaced by permanent accommodation within a reasonable period.
