§ Mr. George HowarthThe Government's statement of 17 July 1997 set out a programme of action which had been agreed with industry interests to tackle under-age alcohol misuse. This included commitments by retailer organisations to expand the Portman Group proof of age card scheme. We shall be reviewing the industry's progress this autumn.
