§ Mr. Mike O'BrienDetainees who are sectioned under the Mental Health Act are referred for appropriate treatment. Other detainees, who may be receiving treatment when they are released or bailed, are given a summary or copy of their own medical records. They are also given a short supply of any medication they require and told to register with a General Practitioner as soon as they are released. It would then be for the General Practitioner to arrange whatever care he or she considered necessary.
