§ Mr. SpellarAs I told the House on 4 February 1998,Official Report, column 1010, nuclear test veterans have been the subject of two detailed studies by the National Radiological Protection Board, the first in 1988 and the second in 1993. The 1993 report concluded that participation in the test programme had not had a detectable effect on the participants' expectation of life or on their risk of developing cancer or other fatal diseases.
