§ Mr. FraserTo ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport if he will make a statement on the Government's plans to reduce the proportion of lottery money that will go to the arts, sport, heritage and charities. [37433]
§ Mr. Chris SmithThe proportion of lottery income which the arts, sport, heritage and charities each receive will be amended to 16.% from 14 October 1997, subject to the passage of the necessary provision in the National Lottery Bill. Each can still expect to receive £1.8 billion over the period of the current licence. This matches their original expectation when the Lottery was launched.
