§ Mr. HainA number of traffic calming trials have been implemented on the Trunk Road Network and the results will be available later this year. The results will allow decisions to be made on the implementation of traffic calming elsewhere on the network.
We place strong emphasis on making residential areas safer for children and want traffic to adapt to the needs of all vulnerable road users. We are promoting a safer environment for pedestrians and cyclists by encouraging, where appropriate, traffic calming schemes, 20 mph zones, safer routes to schools and alternatives to the car.
