1 Health authority figures have been created from trust figures where the trust's main site is located within the health authority. The information on the main site of the trust and its health authority is based upon NHS organisation codes, derived from trust information. Some trusts have hospital sites which cross health authority boundaries. Therefore, the figures will not reflect the true position for the number of beds within each health authority area.
2 Figures exclude neonatal cots in maternity wards and beds in residential care, but include paediatric intensive care beds.
