To ask the President of the Board of Trade if she will list each(a) scheme, (b) initiative and (c) programme funded by (i) her Department, (ii) the Office of Science and Technology and (iii) the research councils, which have as an objective the building of partnerships between industry and academia. Below are listed activities involving the collaboration between industry and academia which are funded by the DTI (including OST) and the Research Councils. They aim to encourage sustained partnerships between academia and industry through mechanisms such as joint technology development projects and technology transfer activities which include academics working in industry.
