To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what are the Key Targets set for the Chief Executive of the Defence Clothing and Textiles Agency for the Financial Year 1998–99. [38841]

The Chief Executive of the Defence Clothing and Textiles Agency has been set the following Key Targets for the Financial Year 1998–99:

Key Targets 1

To establish a mechanism and baseline to enable subsequent measurement of improvements in the range of Material provided.

Key Targets 2

To exceed 5 per cent. increase of the number of items procured by Direct Supply.

Key Targets 3

To exceed 90 per cent. of Customers' perceived satisfaction of requirements.

Key Targets 4

To exceed 80 per cent. of underlying availability of Material.

Key Targets 5

To exceed 5 per cent. improvement in commodity management process cycle times.

Key Targets 6

To establish unit costs per output data to enable the setting of realistic efficiency targets for subsequent years.
