§ Dawn Primarolo[holding answer 6 April 1998]: The Financial Statement and Budget Report released on 17 March contained an environmental assessment of the Budget measures which will have a significant effect on the environment. The inclusion of the assessment within the Financial Statement and Budget Report demonstrates the Government's commitment to put the environment at the heart of the Government policy, and ensure that all environmental considerations are given full weight when formulating policy.
