Mr. Stunell

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what was the quantity of(a) oil, (b) gas and (c) electricity purchased for the heating, lighting and powering of all accommodation occupied by his Department within the United Kingdom in each year since 1989–90; and what was the total cost in real terms for (a) to (c) in each year. Since 1990 the Department has monitored and recorded its energy consumption and costs on a basis agreed with the former Department of the Environment. The figures cover the majority of the administrative estate for which the Department has been directly responsible. They are reported annually to the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions, and are set out in the table.
