§ Angela EagleThe health and safety framework directive 89/391/EEC has been implemented in the UK primarily by the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1992 and by existing health and safety law, including the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.
Discussions are continuing between my officials and the European Commission about our implementation of this directive, following which the Health and Safety Commission may consult later this year on some minor modifications to UK health and safety regulations.
