§ Clare ShortThe Government recognise the severe problems faced by street children in Colombia who are often victims of sexual abuse or involved with drug problems. Over the last few years we have supported a number of Colombian NGOs working with street children and child prostitutes through our Department for International Development (DFID) Small Grants Scheme. In addition last year DFID voted in support of a 6.4 million ECU programme to help street children and young people in Colombia being financed under the European Commission's development programme.
