§ Angela EagleMy Department has sponsored research into the effects of acidifying pollutants over the last ten years. Research expenditure, in this area, is currently about £2.7 million per year. This has contributed to reviews by two expert UK groups, the United Kingdom Review Group on Acid Rain (RGAR) and the Critical Loads Advisory Group (CLAG). Copies of the most recent produced by RGAR and CLAG, which include information on critical loads and critical levels, acid deposition and the acidification of lakes and rivers, have been placed in the Library of the House.
