To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment if he will list the local authorities involved in the pilot projects to base the financing of school sixth forms on the Further Education Funding Council funding methodology; and if he will make a statement on the way in which the project will proceed. Dr. Howells

A group of local authorities, shown in the list, is looking at alternative approaches to the funding of school sixth forms, based on principles similar to those used in further education (funding for recruitment, programme delivery and achievement). Ministers expect to receive a progress report in June, which will help to inform them on how they wish to proceed.
