§ Ms JowellOn 24 June, my hon. Friend the Minister for Sport met Maurice Lindsay of the Rugby Football League, Richard Little of the England and Wales Cricket Board, Jonathan Ashman of the RAC Motorsports Association and Martyn Blake of the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association. The Central Council of Physical Recreation, as the national association of governing bodies of sport, was invited to put together the delegation.
In additioo, my hon. Friend the Minister for Sport was present when I met Max Mosley of the Federation Internationale de 1'Automobile on 23 September. This meeting was held at the request of Max Mosley.
Representatives from the Sports Council of Great Britain, the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association, the Institute of Sports Sponsorship, the English Sports Council, the British Darts Organisation, the Central Council of Physical Recreation and the RAC Motorsports Association were also present at the Government's anti-smoking summit, held on 14 July 1997.
Representatives from the Football Association, the FA Premier League, the England and Wales Cricket Board, the Amateur Athletics Association and the United Kingdom and Scottish Sports Councils were invited to the summit, but did not attend.
