§ Ms Roseanna CunninghamTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many convictions there have been in each of the past five years for the common law offence of supplying volatile substances in the knowledge that they would be abused. [17288]
§ Mr. McLeish[holding answer 24 November 1997]: Over the period concerned no one has been recorded as having a charge proved where the "reckless supply of solvents" was the main offence. The table below provides information on the number of persons with a charge proved where the main offence was "reckless conduct" and "culpable and reckless conduct", which are common law offences under which the supply of volatile substances in the knowledge that they would be abused may also be charged. It is not known how many, if any, of these figures involved solvents.
