These are derived from (a) the revenue outturn form RO1 return collected by the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions, for the financial years 1993–94, 1994–95 and 1995–96; (b) to (e) the outturn statements produced by local education authorities under section 42 of the Education Reform Act 1988, for the financial years 1993–94, 1994–95 and 1995–96; (f) returns made by schools to the Department in January 1995, 1996 and 1997 (Annual Schools Census—Form 7).
